130 x 100 cm
Acrylic on stretched canvas.
I’m fascinated by human conditions and how they can be communicated by spaces and relationships. In all relationships there are boundaries and I wanted to visually reflect that idea. The layers build up into a richness of tones, yet they are transparent and show all of their history and age that could almost be peeled back. The viewer is invited into the space, just as the subject is taking tentative steps into the lightness of the room. There is a sense of trepidation and also curiosity the audience can share in.
