Martin Buber wrote: ‘The world is not comprehensible, but it is embraceable: through the embracing of one of its beings.’ Its a fascinating thought that the act of loving helps us make sense of the world. With all its chaos and endless searching for meaning, this act of surrender gives us something to hold on to and something to make us feel connected and physically part of the space. Within this piece, I was looking for a way to express this idea, how visceral the colour could be to make embrace it, like the chaotic world around us, yet with something rich and sensual to acknowledge.
