I was thinking about a future where there were only two left. I liked the idea that it wasn't clear whether it was utopian or dystopian and the marks suggested something sharp and contrasty, yet the colours having a brightness and an optimism in them. The figures in the corner represent the last two people and their pose could be romantic or full of tragedy. Framed between the trees and perched above them, is the building, shining in the sun, provoking a sense of narrative of where the figures have come from or where they belong.
